Travel guide
A little help getting to Tagaytay, and making the most of it.
Where to stay?
Tagaytay is about two hours south of Manila, so we recommend staying the night. The church and Angelfields are both on the Silang side of Tagaytay, a short drive apart.
Near the church
Around Silang Junction and the Tagaytay rotonda: the easiest choice if you want to arrive early and unhurried.
Along the Tagaytay–Santa Rosa Road
Closest to Angelfields, and right on the main road back to Manila.
On the ridge
Hotels and B&Bs along the Tagaytay ridge look out over Taal Lake and the volcano. Worth it for the morning view.
Book early. February is Tagaytay's cool season, and weekends fill up fast.
How to get around
From Manila & the airport
Allow two to three hours by car from NAIA or Metro Manila, depending on traffic. The usual route is SLEX, exiting at Santa Rosa, then up the Tagaytay–Santa Rosa Road.
By bus
Buses to Tagaytay and Nasugbu leave from PITX in Parañaque. From Tagaytay, a short Grab or taxi ride takes you to your hotel.
On the day
Both venues have ample free parking. Not driving? Arrange your ride home in advance: Grab cars can be hard to find in Tagaytay late at night.
Church to reception
A short drive. Please allow a little time for the journey after the photos.
Beyond Tagaytay
Staying a little longer? A few ideas nearby.
Taal views
Tagaytay sits on a ridge above Taal Lake. Catch the view at sunrise from a ridge-side café or viewing deck.
Bulalo
Tagaytay's famous beef marrow soup, made for the cool weather. Mahogany Market is the classic place to try it.
Gardens & farms
Gardens, farms and nature parks around Silang and Alfonso make an easy half-day trip.
The beach
Nasugbu and the Batangas coast are around an hour and a half away, for a beach day after the wedding.
